gillhalfpint Posted April 22, 2015 #26 Share Posted April 22, 2015 About £94 on the train to Southampton Central - don't know which of the 3 stations is nearest the port - so would not want too much luggage. Might need a taxi from there to the port, don't know Southampton at all. Wish there was a port nearer the Midlands.
kruzseeka Posted April 22, 2015 #27 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Southampton Central is the train station nearest the port. You can see where you need to go from there but it's not very practical dragging cases that far especially as some of the berth entrances involve you walking much further than if you could get direct access to the terminal. A taxi ride is the best option imo - about £5/7?

We were thinking about trying a P and O mini cruise in December to try them, but looks like we have to add around £100 to the fare to get there. Will check up late summer what is on offer ex UK. May try Fred, but want to give them both a go.
CRUISIN LINDA Posted April 22, 2015 #29 Share Posted April 22, 2015 There are taxis waiting outside the station. About a 5 minute ride. DH can't remember how much the fare was  but not much.
joeholiday2 Posted April 22, 2015 #30 Share Posted April 22, 2015 Gill. Have a look at Eavesway coaches. £92 return for us in the North West, will be cheaper for you. They are a great service, used them twice now.

gillhalfpint Posted April 22, 2015 #32 Share Posted April 22, 2015 I will consider the coach if we do Southampton. We had a free coach to Harwich to join Spirit for Fire and Ice and that worked well. Jotted down so when we come to do the planning I will have info to hand. Cheers.
