Fascination Safe - swipe or PIN?

Do the safes on the Fascination still use a card swipe? (Wasn't sure if this had changed.)

Our first cruise was the Fascination and they had swipe safes.

I know that still had the swipe safes two years ago, but I didn't know if they upgraded during the recent dry dock.

The Swipe is a feature of access to some of the safes. You swipe the debit/credit card on the safe door and it will open. Just depends on which card you use to activate it.

Does it have to be a credit card/debit card or can it be another card, like a grocery card, etc?

As long as it has a magnetic strip it should be good. We use our AAA card. Have also used our Costco card. Sis has used a casino card.

That is what we do. No worries about using a card I don't want to lose.

For some reason, both of our Burger Joint rewards card did not work. So, not all cards with magnetic strips work (we did use the cards at Burger Joint post cruise, so the cards did still work).
