Once they brought in a new President, there would be some fall out, more coming I bet.

eponym Posted April 28, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 28, 2015 I'll send her some chocolate covered strawberries. Only after she racks up some casino points on her cruise. I have seen her on one video at one time. Wasn't real impressed given the title/dynamics of the position (VP of Worldwide Sales) with the 800 pound gorilla. Rare jimbo5544 Posted April 29, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted April 29, 2015 Dont see how that will affect us here. Actually, it could have a very significant effect on all of us. She came in circa Gerry Cahill (actually came over from sister company Costa). She was involved wit almost every policy and decision having to do with Carnival over the last 8 years. It will be interesting to see if her boss Lynn Torrent survives. Even more interesting to see who replaces her. Don't think because you have not seen her she was not integral to the process. She was integral to the processes and growth of Travel Agents and 3rd party Agencies development for Carnival bookings. That was her primary development and responsibility. Not something the average cruiser cares specifically anything about. We often book cruises directly without T/A's. Unless there are flights and more than one night hotels/land portions involved on our vacation. But Carnival on those trips is only a portion of the overall vacation, and isn't the reason I would ever choose to use a T/A. We think the last few years of Cahill have been rather downhill for the brand, with many things now looking up for the future. Never paid much attention before, but hope the policy of giving OBC to stockholders is renewed next year:) The dividends will be nice, too. We are new to buying individual stocks, so this is good news- hope you are correct (as we believe you are, of course!).

guxu Posted April 29, 2015 #20 Share Posted April 29, 2015 But is still 10%+ higher than 1 year ago. And it is about the same as its 1999 price. :( With today's 3+% drop, I took a $3k hit. Why was that? Because that Joni lady is leaving?

Market saturations? Any number of complex things. If any stock was 100% predictable, no one would invest in anything else.
