Can anyone tell me what the temperatures on the ships are like? Esp.Alaska sailings. Are the public areas inside chilly, or do they have the heat up? Don't know what type of clothes to pack for nighttime/dinnertime. Thanks

Bring a sweater/shawl/sweatshirt/windbreaker

Whatever your fashion style dictates

For me a sweater or shrug for med/Carib cruises

If I did Alaska I would go the sweatshirt route

I love the casualness of Ncl and in my mind Alaska would be a rugged type trip for us

I've never been 'cold' or 'chilly' inside of the ship except when in the Theater.

Still, I always bring a light jacket, shawl or sweater.

I've sailed to Alaska a few times. For dinner you can wear whatever you want and should be comfortable. I wore both long and short sleeve tops. I did usually wear a sweater also, mainly for the fact that we were indoors and then out quite a bit. I could go out on deck and still not freeze.

I did see many women at dinner in the main dining room with nice short-sleeved dresses on.

Er, uhm, then there are people like me, it was was stuffy , very stuffy. At one point I had to sort elbow my way out the doors. They where blocking it for some reason and I had to have fresh air NOW. I think Alaska is my natural habitat.
