QTPieRye Posted May 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2015 I was pretty sure I'd read in a review or thread that you are allowed to drop luggage, check-in, go to cabin to change clothes and then head out and explore the embarkation port? A CCL rep told one of the people in our group today that you could NOT do that, but rather you could check-in and not board and leave. AND that once you boarded you had to stay on the ship? Sad that I trust CC members more than CCL with information.... but as we know, depending on who, what and when, you get a dozen answers to the same question. Any definitive information is appreciated. Thanks
twocruiseguys Posted May 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2015 This is a very common practice in San Juan where the ship sails at 10pm. We checked in at 1100am, dropped everything in the room, left the ship, explored the city, and returned at 830 in time for muster.
KatPem Posted May 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2015 We were allowed to board and then leave again in San Juan. If you have faster to the fun your room should be ready, otherwise they aren't usually ready until 1:30.
QTPieRye Posted May 7, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted May 7, 2015 Thank you. Do they have a separate re-boarding area?
jiggs Posted May 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2015 Thank you. Do they have a separate re-boarding area? they require that you go through security again, so it depends on the port. you should not have to wait in the same line as everyone else boarding for the first time. I think it depends where you board. Several ports for disembark are out of the way of the cities they're located in which would require a cab out and back. Others like New Orleans and San Juan are perfect.
