broncorckcrwlr Posted May 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2015 Hello all, been a while since I've been on. We are trying to start planning our next cruise and I was looking for sailings out of Tampa as that works best for us. Right now there are only 2 showing in January 2016. We don't really care for either as we prefer a longer cruise. Is Carnival sailing less out of Tampa or am I just not going about looking correctly? Last time I looked they had scads of cruises sailing out of Tampa. Thanks.

At least for now, Tampa has the Paradise, sailing 4 and 5 nights year round. I see 4 nighters to Cozumel on 14 and 28 Jan, and 5 nighters on 4, 9, 18 and 23 Jan to Cozumel and Cayman. Speculation is that they may bring the Miracle back to Tampa in late 2016, but Carnival has made no announcement yet. So during the season there is 1 Carnival ship, 2 Royal Caribbean, 1 NCL and 1 Holland America. Years back we had 2 Carnival ships here year round. At the present Miracle is scheduled in An Hawaiian port on Jan 22,2017 according to the Hawaii Port Authority. (Splendor is scheduled for October 2017 and December 2017.). Some else said there was a charter cruise out of Tampa on the Miracle the first part of February. IF both are true, the Miracle should be making a Panama Canal transit the end of January/first of February in 2017.

Interesting news. Hope it's true. Never done a Canal cruise and it sounds great. Interesting news about Splendor too. Thanks.
