bcnvcanada Posted May 16, 2015 #1 Share Posted May 16, 2015 Has anyone traveled thru FCO (Rome) T-3 since the fire? Are you able to get to the trains into Rome? Where does one collect cases on arrival from Canada or the U.S ? Any info of how it has effected your travel or how to plan for it, would be most welcomed. We can rebook our flights to another city in Italy. Suggestions most welcomed.
Rare John Bull Posted May 16, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 16, 2015 There's already a thread on the subject, including one cruiser who's passed through since the fire. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2206075 Ask on there, those folk are probably subscribed to the thread. JB :) Unfortunately no one has reported on arrivals, only a departure. I'm going through FCO on Friday; it would be nice to know how things are currently being routed since most International flights (at least from US) arrive at T-3. OP: I assume they will have have some sort of temporary work-around, hopefully with signage (one never knows at FCO...) and I would not expect that the fire impacted train service in any way -- you may just have to take a roundabout path to get to it. slidergirl Posted May 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2015 They had stopped the trains into FCO to keep people away from FCO during and immediately after the fire incident. Once things were under control and started operations again, the train was reinstated.
samavarcruiser Posted May 23, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2015 I was in Rome last week and everything works perfectly now, they are of course still fixing the damage :(
Sanantoniocruiser Posted May 23, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2015 We traveled through FCO yesterday. There were no issues. Everything was operating normally. We were dropped off at T-5 and had no problems getting to our flight. We actually allowed 3 hours to transit the terminal and were at the gate within 2 hours, including a stop at the VAT refund desk.
