StanandJim Posted May 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2015 Today was not NCL's best day. They also reported a drowning in the pool on the Jade this morning, although reports indicate that it happened on Sunday. A child, which is always tragic. May she rest in peace. hypercafe Posted May 20, 2015 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2015 The death was on the Gem. Happened on Sunday afternoon and was reported by NCL yesterday morning. Sent from my XT1032 using Forums mobile
computerworks Posted May 20, 2015 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2015 The Dawn had a loss of propulsion power while leaving Bermuda. During the stall, it drifted into a reef in the narrow channel. They waited until high tide tonight to have two tugs try and rock it off the reef. The intention is to bring it back to King's Wharf for a daylight inspection. All are safe and ship has had power since the incident.
DrHemlock Posted May 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2015 I loved this passenger quote from the AP newswire: "We had crew members running around in a panic, and we felt like we had to panic." Riiiight! The crew was panicked. Makes good terror-news copy, doesn't it? So much more shocking and appalling than "Some of the crew moved about with a sense of urgency while we continued with our dinner." I haven't checked the NCL board but surely someone over there blames the entire episode on Frank.:D
Travelcat2 Posted May 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2015 NCL passengers are blaming everything on Frank  I am thankful that no one was injured on the Dawn and hope that it continues on its' way today.

hondorner Posted May 20, 2015 #8 Share Posted May 20, 2015 One of the intrepid NCL posters blamed the grounding of Dawn as a cover-up of the drowning on Gem...
Rare PaulMCO Posted May 21, 2015 #9 Share Posted May 21, 2015 One of the intrepid NCL posters blamed the grounding of Dawn as a cover-up of the drowning on Gem... They could have blamed it on the no food ban -- Captain could not get to the bridge because the food police would not have let him in because he had food with him. :D
