Helicopter Glacier Landing from Seward

We would like to do a Helicopter Glacier Landing during our cruise next year. We were going to do it out of Juneau but we see there is a company that does it out of Seward. We are thinking it would be great to do it pre-cruise to free up our Juneau day for something else as well as give us an opportunity to possibly reschedule it should it be cancelled due to weather. Has anyone used Seward Helicopter Tours and if so, how was it?

IMHO having done it both at Skagway and Juneau that the experience is similar so always nice to have more time in ports if you have a busy day set up.

Both times had wonderful views of the port, mountains and glaciers and that will be a bit different in each area.

Yes, we booked with them summer 2013 for the same reason. We figured if the flight was cancelled in Seward then we could try Juneau. It was actually a little less in Seward too, but not worth booking just for that reason. We flew to a glacier and then did the dog sledding excursion. it was so much fun and we think that was one of the highlights of our time in Alaska! The camp seems smaller in Seward then what I have seen advertised in Juneau, but that was fine. The mushers were young men and fun to talk with. There was a delay in the helicopter returning for us and it was raining so they invited us into their large tent, entertained us with stories and the heater in their tent kept us warm and dry (it was rainy that day). We still talk about how much fun that was!

Thank you for your response! At this point we are leaning towards Seward, glad to hear it was a good experience. :)

I have flown with Godwin's out of Seward, well run company. Overall, flights out of Seward are far less canceled compared to Juneau and Skagway. It also, would be likely to have very little ability to reschedule a flight from either Skagway or Juneau. In any event- have all the phone numbers of the possible vendors, (3/4) and call them immediately.
