The_Big_M Posted April 8, 2016 #426 Share Posted April 8, 2016 ...and then switch it out for a kangaroo when it gets to Sydney? The polar bear didn't get removed from Quantum in China, so no reason for others to.
Biker19 Posted April 8, 2016 #427 Share Posted April 8, 2016 The polar bear didn't get removed from Quantum in China, so no reason for others to. My point was that such a decoration is not for really for certain markets and will likely last the life of the ship, which already had its schedule changed to lean more toward the Aussie market. Besides, RCI likely has a long term contract with some artist and the animal was decided upon a long time ago - it just hasn't shown up yet. kkfw1994 Posted April 8, 2016 #428 Share Posted April 8, 2016 You are right, they have made it into a corridor of one arm bandits at the back of the music hall, I get the impression that there is a false wall immediately behind the bar making the corridor. On Anthem this was all part of the Music hall with bar stools & lovely seats as you can see from my picture above, we spent a lot of time in that area, I loved Rock the Boat & the whole atmosphere of the place but I wear hearing aids & I found that area allowed me to enjoy the music & hear conversations. :) There is a hall behind Music Hall on deck 3 on Anthem. It goes from the forward stairs to Casino Royal, no slot machines are in it. The pool tables are on deck

Why would a panda (assuming its that) not be for other markets? They're just as popular elsewhere. One would expect more popular than a giraffe in the US as well... not that that's a native animal either. As for the schedule, it's a logical commercial change, quiet time in China, while it is obviously going to be in demand in peak period in Australia. It doesn't indicate any greater preference or leaning, and is still substantially shorter in the Australian season. If it was here more than 6 months, that might be different - though again I don't see that they're changing animals for different markets anywhere. Biker19 Posted April 8, 2016 #432 Share Posted April 8, 2016 Why would a panda (assuming its that) not be for other markets? Panda could be for other markets as well - again, my point was that RCI is unlikely to put some animal on the ship for a certain market. Considering the ship was handed over to RCI without Meyer installing any animal may mean RCI is giving up on them altogether.

Would be good if they stop this nonsense, wasted space and another gimmick that makes a ship not looking like a ship anymore.

Too much thought and analysis over an animal ornament lol! I don't see them changing it once installed. The root issue is when will it be installed, and secondary what will it be?! saffikins Posted April 8, 2016 #440 Share Posted April 8, 2016 I see the animal is joining in Southampton! I have just read that from two different sources as well. Cool! It's all good fun and just adds to the intrigue.
Sccrkeepr Posted April 8, 2016 #441 Share Posted April 8, 2016 My guess for the animal is Koala (climbing a bamboo tree) as it would fit both markets well - i noticed in looking at pictures on facebook, there were several Koala art pieces around the ship.
