Future Valor Cruise

We are thinking of booking a cruise on the Valor for April 2016. Our PVP is trying to get us to stay on the Upper Deck above the Promanade Deck. My fear is the noise at night and cigarette smoke from the casino. Anyone with experience would be appreciated.

I dont see how cigarette smoke would be a factor.

There is another thread about booking a room over the band that plays just off the casino bar, and how the noise/music ruined their sleep.

 

I've been on the Valor 7 times, and the smoke and noise will filter upwards. My advice would be to be further aft than the casino, but before the disco and the comedy show. Actually, if you can go to the next deck, Empress, and just avoid the cabins near the stairway from the casino, you'll be better off.

I just booked this afternoon for the Valor on April 9th to 16th 2016! My wife and I cruised this past April on the Conquest. We had a balcony on the Panorama deck, Loved it so much so we booked the same room number for next year. Had no problems with noise or smoke.

Normally we are several decks above the Promenade and have never had a problem. Didn't know how much noise would be a factor in a room above all the activity.

On the Conquest class I like to book deck 7, rooms above and below.

Just off "Valor", and had a GREAT cruise, but I'd advise NOT to book any deck, near the atrium. They turn the volume up so LOUD on the entertainer who is performing there, that you can't even hear yourself think if you're anywhere near the atrium. They even close the doors from the atrium, to the cabins on ALL the decks. Either book further forward, or my personal preference, further aft. ;)
