dougp26364 Posted September 15, 2005 #26 Share Posted September 15, 2005 I think I may have a strong case here since our first cruise was a FREE 7 night Alaskan cruise. It was part of an incentive to purchase for my OTHER habit, timeshare vacationing. Now I'm hooked on not one but TWO forms of rather expensive vacations. As you can see by my list of past cruises and future cruises, I may be incurable. Heck, I'm already thinking about whether to book our next cruise while onboard our October cruise or wait until our December cruise. The problem is the cruise I'm planning for won't be until 2007 and the itenerary probably won't be out until late spring or early summer next year. So I'd be booking a cruise just for the booking number. Oh yea......we're hooked bad. :D
Alexis Posted September 15, 2005 #27 Share Posted September 15, 2005 It all started in September of 1989. 21 cruises since then and we can't stop. :D Then, we tried a balcony in 2003 and we are addicted to them. There is no turning back.:o I need help also. Sign me up.
cruiseman_tx Posted September 15, 2005 #28 Share Posted September 15, 2005 I think I deserve a place in this suit... I haven't even sailed yet but I am already addicted to this site and to the ...idea of cruising. I didn't know it was possible to get addicted without even sampling the goods. We are planning on booking our next cruise while on board our first... man' date=' this is gonna be one expensive habit![/quote'] Sounds like a strong case for including Cruise Critics as co-defendents!!!! legalwife Posted September 15, 2005 #29 Share Posted September 15, 2005 Okay. Hubby was attorney till last year. I worked with him some at his office. I can dig in the old computer and see what we need to file. Surely I can produce some legal mumbo jumbo we can get through. Now, if your juveniles coerced you into this addiction, as ours did by need to periodically escape :), Hubby is now a juvenile judge and I can attempt to woo him with my feminine charms to throw the book at them if we can get all in his court by some "legal technicality". Be warned. My feminine charms did NOT get me a balcony this next cruise... BUT, I can try again.
shan&steve Posted September 15, 2005 #30 Share Posted September 15, 2005 I have not even taken my cruise yet and my wife is sure that I am addicted. :D I'm right there with ya!! 10 days til my addiction begins!! LOL:D

BonnieNYTX Posted September 16, 2005 #33 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Count me in although it might be too late for me. I keep looking for my bed to be turned down at night , a chocolate placed on my pillow, a cute towel animal, a daily activity list shoved under my door, lobster served weekly, nighttime entertainment, etc., etc. I keep looking for the pool deck but I never seem to find it. How pathetic am I? :(
Arizona Cruz Chic Posted September 16, 2005 #34 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Add me to the list.....in fact to file a double law suit. Its all RCI's fault for letting me book that first balcony cabin, now that's all I will ever book. :D First they got me hooked on cruising, then on balconies, I feel like such a cruise junkie waiting for my next fix! ***
ddjwms Posted September 16, 2005 #35 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Count my husband and me in; we took our first cruise in 2000; now we just booked number 26. Average that out and you can see we have an expensive habit! People thought we were kidding when we said we were retiring because work was getting in the way of our cruising, but we were serious. Can't be much more of a cruise junkie than that...Good thing our next "fix" is only two weeks away...

Grumm Posted September 16, 2005 Author #39 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Clearly this thing is growing. Now we seem to have addicts who have not yet cruised. My feeling is that we should bypass attorneys and go straight to the UN, thus allowing us to purchase enough ships from RCCL to keep us sane until expiry (full burial at sea included, with the dimmer members digging the grave). I feel it would be pointless to arrange "Friends of...." meetings aboard, as we will all be high at the time. We need to build on-shore ships which allow us to stay in an owner's suite for a short period, stepping down by grade to an inside crew quarters cabin sleeping 12. Bearing in mind the amount of Northern European cruises now available, I repectfully suggest that we call our units " Betty Fjord Clinics". Sheffie Posted September 16, 2005 #40 Share Posted September 16, 2005 It is so sad. Not only am I addicted, but I have brought my friends into the fold! The list is growing exponentially! We have gone past the label of Cruiseaholics. . . we are known as Sea Sluts! The sea has lured us! We have succommed! We have no pride! We have no self control when it comes to cruising! We CANNOT quit!

Grumm Posted September 16, 2005 Author #42 Share Posted September 16, 2005 Hello again everyone and welcome to the Betty Fjord site. I need you all to remember that we are all in the same boat-damn! I mean we all have the same problem. PLEASE remember those 12 steps.........up the gangway and into the Atrium...oh hell! There I go again.....what's the point? Do you think that drugs or alcohol might help? Al
Rare OceanCruise Posted September 16, 2005 #43 Share Posted September 16, 2005 It is all part of an evil plot. Part of their strategy is to lure you on and then exacerbate other addictions people may already have. For overeaters, there is food 24 hours a day. For alcoholics, bars around every corner. For gamblers, Bingo and casino. Then there are those romantic sunsets for those addicted to.....well, you know. Also, I think the Steiner company should also be named in this suit. How dare they give us those beautiful ocean views while giving us a pampering massage. Hey, and don't they point out all our flaws so we will buy their products and keep coming back for services? Not only do they point out our flaws, but they take photographs of us all and then exhibit them for everyone to tut..tut at! I believe the Illuminatti may be involved here...or George Orwell. Not that I'm in any way paranoid...am I? No really, do you think I'm paranoid? Why? Why do you and everyone else think that I'm paranoid? God. I need a stiff cruise. Then we can all cruise to our hearts content! WHEN we win, not only will the condiments fleet be afloat, but work will have started with Paul Newman's estate on the Cooking Sauces fleet. franma Posted September 16, 2005 #47 Share Posted September 16, 2005 But...before we proceed, someone should check all cruise docs with a magnifier to see if there are any warning labels hidden in the fine print - rccl may have anticipated this...
vickiw0318 Posted September 16, 2005 #48 Share Posted September 16, 2005 I need to add my name to the class action suit. My addiction is definitely RCI's fault. I was set to be part of a three day company trip on a RCI ship. Because the line overbooked that trip, they offered my company a 7 day trip Southern Carribean trip on the Monarch for the same cost and upgraded us all to Junior Suites. If that isn't a cause for my addiction that RCI's "fault", I don't know what is! Then Delta cancelled our flight to San Juan and upgraded us to first class for our trip on the next flight out from Dallas to San Juan. If they hadn't just filed for bankruptcy, I could add Delta as a co-defendent. First class airfare and a Junior Suite - what a trip. Moreover since it was an award's meeting, I didn't pay for any of it. I keep cruising and cruising hoping for the same experience.

I hate to break it to you, but I'm a Realtor in Florida and there's not much real estate left! However, since I'm SURE that the fact that so many cruisers want to live here has something to do with that, maybe we can use that in our law suit! ;) Gina
