SportsMomof4 Posted June 6, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 6, 2015 Looking on White Sands website. I am not familiar with where to snorkel. There is west side shallow & west side wall. What is the difference? Or for 1st timers, should we just snorkel at the beach?
Anthomaniac Posted June 11, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2015 Shallow will be in closer to the shore, wall will be out at THE WALL, one of the largest reefs in the world. Do the wall, you won't regret it. They usually give you a little floaty vest to help with buoyancy, and with flippers anyone comfortable in the water should be fine. crewsnews Posted June 13, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2015 We just brought some goggles and swam around at the beach near the pier. We saw squid, lots of colorful fish, a large cannon, and a huge anchor (both of which were placed here intentionally, but still cool)..and it was free

Their boat broke down when we were in the middle of the ocean. They kept getting the motor started but it would stall again. We had to beg a passing boat to tow us back. They didn't have good equipment for snorkeling. We are going to Grand Turk again Jan. 2016. Will NOT be using White Sands
QC_Cruiser Posted July 20, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 20, 2015 We were in Grand Turk last June, and we took a snorkeling trip with Blue Water Divers. They were excellent, very safe, friendly, and we really had a blast. We did a shallow site, where the water was really clear, and saw tons of fish and coral. We then went to the Wall, and it was very impressive. They had divers with us the whole time, and took time to explain what we saw.
sunlover5 Posted July 20, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I just booked a few weeks ago with White Sands. They were excellent at communicating with me the same day I emailed them. We need a sting ray excursion with snorkeling because the grandkids are going with us and that is what they want to do!! I have read good reviews about them so I hope our excursion will be good and Blue Waters only had snorkeling, no sting rays!!
