I have just requested M&G times for our upcoming Statendam Seattle to Singapore cruise in September. In the response from HAL the following appeared for the first time:

"Also, regarding the request for ship staff to attend, unfortunately the ships staff will not be able to attend however they are frequently out and about where you can meet them."

So things are indeed changing. Perhaps this is just a general statement meant to indicate that more often than not ships personnel will not attend but I bet that they still will occasionally.

I would guess that on the Seattle-Singapore Statendam run many will be busy fine tuning their resume'

I have been sitting on the sidelines and reading this thread and amazed at some members statements. I would suggest that everyone read (as many as you can) the many frequent replies and comments from "Bruce Muzz" on CC. The link is below, if this doesn't work, try doing a "Search: Posts Made by Bruce Muzz"

It is obvious that this is not his real name, but from reading most of his input, it would appear to me that he is/was a Hotel Manager for a number of cruise lines and on numerous ships for more than 20 years....and...before that worked in the hotel business. He is very frank, certainly not shy, holds nothing back and calls a spade a spade. He gives a real incite from the 'other side'.

You do know that it's pretty easy to query vBulletin's underlying database to see when multiple IDs are used by the same poster, right?

Hopefully we will meet on a cruise at some point. Something tells me we would get along just fine :D

Sometimes I think one can gain insight by the spelling of certain words. Low tech, I know, but useful just the same.

It's funny because some people try to disguise themselves by using text shortcuts but it's not sucessful.

Just because there may be two (or more) poster names registered to the same IP address does not mean it is the same person using two names. Some households have only one computer they share and a husband and wife/partners etc could be two different people posting from the same computer. DH used mine once in a while but I wouldn't let him use my 'post name'. :)
