CruisinCadie Posted June 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2015 DH has found a coastal California cruise he wants to take. Round trip from San Francisco, with stops in Santa Barbara, LA, Ensenada, and San Diego. Other than the fact that we have family in SF, and, hey, it's a cruise!, I'm thinking WHY? What's to see in Santa Barbara and San Diego, and how do you condense LA into one day? Can someone sell me on this? I'll go because it's rare that he says, I want to take this cruise, but I'd feel more excited if I have more to look forward to. Thanks, Kathy
mtwingcpa Posted June 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2015 If it were me, I'd likely approach that as a "ship is the destination" cruise and stay onboard during the port stops (which I've mostly visited before via land travel).
SadieN Posted June 22, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 22, 2015 (edited) Where in LA are you porting? Long Beach has the wonderful Aquarium of the Pacific. Easy to get to on the free Passport Bus. Also check out the Queen Mary. If porting in San Pedro, the Iowa is docked at the other end of the pier. San Diego is fun. Old Town, Maritime Museum, the Midway, Balboa Park, the Zoo. CruisinCadie Posted June 22, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted June 22, 2015 Thamks, SadieN. After much consideration and consultation with our travelling companions, we have decided to switch directions and head north to Alaska in August instead. We'll keep this one in mind for another year. Kathy
