nadeki Posted June 29, 2015 #1 Share Posted June 29, 2015 I am sailing in less than 100 days :) and will be with my parents. We all are platinum and will receive the voucher for dinner for 2. I realize we are three and each night we will pay for one meal. I have been reading that the restaurant reservations for earlier/more ideal times are filling up long before sailing dates. Therefore if I understand this correctly I will have to pre pay all our dinners and hope to get refunded once on board. The additional kink in the plan is we are 3 and reservations can only be made for even numbers. Therefore I am putting out about $300 in hopes of getting reimbursed? Does anyone have experience and know if this is accurate? If I call NCL will they make the reservations for me instead? Thanks
Sand and Seas Posted June 29, 2015 #2 Share Posted June 29, 2015 We get two Platinum dinners and another dinner comped by the casino. When we first board, I go to restaurant reservations desk and set up our three meals then. Yes, it is sometimes tough to get an 'ideal' time at Cagney's or Le Bistro, but there are always times available for every day of the week. Try booking one of them for your first day on board. JohnIreland Posted June 29, 2015 #3 Share Posted June 29, 2015 Not all slots are pre-bookable.
pfk5454 Posted June 29, 2015 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2015 They always leave times open for booking onboard. I'd make that your first stop rather than taking the time & potential aggravation trying to get a refund.
nadeki Posted June 30, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted June 30, 2015 Thanks everyone for your advice. I think I may wait and hope and hope for the best. My back up plan is we are doing this as a B2B and the second half I have a suite. So if need be I might search out the concierge ahead of time and ask a favor. I was just getting worried as I have read that even the concierge can't get people in now with so many on the dining package.
Demonyte Posted June 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) If you make all reservations right after getting onboard, you will most likely get all the times you want just fine. Also, no need to "hope" for refund if you choose to book in advance, you will get OBC onboard if you cancel the reservation or change the payment method from prepaid there. rbrugler Posted June 30, 2015 #7 Share Posted June 30, 2015 We have never had a problem getting the platinum dinner, with three adults. We use it simply because we can. We are not big on the specialty restaurants.

Thanks We do the same as Sand and Sea; as soon as we board or at the latest, the first morning we book our reservations for specialty dining rooms. We have never had a problem getting the exact time or with in 15 minutes of the time we want. I do think 7 to 8pm is probably the worst.
