kalos Posted July 4, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2015 Hi , has anyone done a recent fly out from Manchester and sailed back into Southampton, then catching the P&O coach back up to Manchester ? I understand from other posts I've read that Cruise Connect now run these coaches instead of Eavesway coaches. At a guess the run should be just over the four hour mark and maybe stop possibly at Hopwood Park services on the M42 ? Do any of you know how long the coach run back up takes and what were the rest break area's used ? Thanks for any help you may give :).
Mostonian Posted July 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Kilos, we did this last April, but it took longer than four hours. It all depends on what time you get away from Southampton because there are always stragglers getting off the ship and finding the right coach. Sometimes the coach may do a drop off for other passengers on the way north as well and there is also a rest stop. The best people to try would be Cruise Connect, the contact number may be in the brochure or you could always obtain it from P&O. The coach terminated at the Airport bus station which is convenient for bus, rail and Metro services. Hope this is of some help.

kersh Posted July 13, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Do you mean the free bus that P & O put on after the transatlantic cruise. If you do then it could vibe operated by any of the coach providers. They are comfy and have a toilet. The stop for us and many other coaches going to Manchester (30) in total was the services on the M6 toll road. It was Good Fruday and the motorways were exceptionally busy but the driver was in constant contact with other coach drivers coming South who told him were the black spots were. Our driver avoided these by coming off the motorway. We arrived in Manchester at approx 14:30, we were the first coach to leave Southamoton at 09:30 am and we had a half hour stop at the services. The drop off at the airport was the Coach station. The coaches do not drop off anywhere on the route up to the airport. Hope this helps.
kalos Posted July 13, 2015 Author #5 Share Posted July 13, 2015 Hi Kersh, Yes I do mean the free bus that P & O put on after the transatlantic cruise. If we end up with journey times like yours ,we will be happy. Easter traffic should not be a problem for us ,as we should be heading over the Atlantic towards Ponta Delgada but we will be back to reality on Friday April 1st heading back to Manchester to pick our car up . Thanks Kersh , for taking the time to reply and for your help .
