murph1031 Posted July 14, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2015 We are in St. Thomas from 11am until 7pm in Oct. We plan on visiting the ice bar and the skyride as well as some shopping. My question is, do we need to book these ahead of time? Or can we just show up at the bar and sky ride and purchase tickets when we get there? I'm open to any suggestions as far as a good tour that would include these two stops. We're not big beach lovers, so not really interested in spending day on beach. Thanks for any help
blue_water Posted July 15, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2015 You will be docked at Havensight so the tram to Paradise Point is within walking distance. I would recommend going into town first to go see Magic Ice and do some shopping and seeing the historic aspects, then taxi back to the PP tram station. Paradise Point is a great spot to enjoy before returning to the ship. There is also a lot of shopping right by your dock. With 6 - 7 hours to spend on the island you can just do this via taxi, if you want to make a run up to mountaintop to get a view of Magens Bay you can also taxi there, but PP is a perfect last stop if docked at Havensight. murph1031 Posted July 15, 2015 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2015 Blue water, thanks for the tips. I assume taxis are pretty easy to get. Is the ice bar to far to walk? And can we just pay for admission when we get to each spot, instead of pre booking?
blue_water Posted July 15, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2015 You can walk the 1.5 miles by taking a shortcut through the Yacht Haven complex. We would hop a taxi for $4 -5pp. Yes there is no need to pre-book either of these although you can buy refundable round-trip tram tickets at your excursions desk if you want to. Fourseventeen Posted July 16, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2015 taxi to ice bar. taxis are all piled up just waiting for people in the cruise port village. paradise point tram is less than 10 mins walk from the cruise ship so no need to taxi there or you can have the taxi drop u there on your return trip. Dont need to book either in advance.

blue_water Posted July 17, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 17, 2015 check online for coupons for the Skyride... I haven't seen the bailey's bushwacker and tram coupons since new owners took over but always a good idea!
