All inclusive beach break at Nohoch Kay? Reviews??

Recommended Posts

We do it every time in CM. But that' because we've known the owner for years. We think the service is top notch and the food and drinks are good. The number of guests are limited. They keep the local vendors away and you're not bothered by the lounger hawkers from the other clubs along the strip. Some people aren't impressed by the water but that's the same along the entire malecon. It's basically the same beach, especially north of the municipal pier.

There are good and bad places along the malecon. But What distinguishes places is the level of service. Blue Kay near the beginning of the malecon is developing a good rep, but is still fairly new. Toward the middle Tropicante is a good place (you can reserve a lounger but no need to book in advance) as is YaYa's and Pez Quadro (which has/had an early bird AI special you can book on line). For other AIs, if that's you thing, look at Maya Chan which anchors the southern end of the malecon or Almaplena, which is even further south.

We have done Nohoch and I guess everyone has a different experience. We did not really care for the place (or the owner that everyone always says is so "friendly"...wasn't our case). We didn't like the location, thought it was small, food was "ok" and we didn't care for the water which had a lot of seaweed and you could walk super far out and it would still be lower than your knees. We watched so many people trying to take out the canoes and couldn't get anywhere because the water was too shallow.

We have been to several of the AI's (Maya Chan and Almaplena) and discovered Blue Kay the last time we were there and it was super nice, huge beach, fun snorkeling, great food, excellent/friendly service and we only paid a little over $40 for the 3 of us for eating and drinking throughout the day. That sure beat paying $50 each for an AI to us. The water was crystal clear and beautiful down that way. I have a review listed in my signature line with over 100 pictures if you are interested. :)
