jules57 Posted July 21, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Has anyone had a cabin immediately below the pool areas on the Ventura? Presumably the set up is similar on the Azura. We were thinking of booking on Riviera deck but are worried about the noise. Having said that it is only a short cruise on 18 to 21 May next year to St Peter Port and Zeebrugge so it may not be sunbathing weather anyway. chelseababy Posted July 21, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Had R518 and no noise problems. Overhang gives shade which suits me.
Azafran Posted July 21, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 21, 2015 We have booked Riviera deck on Azura cabin R749, aft balcony, so any opinions good or bad gladly appreciated. The only noise we have heard about is from the sea, which if you are on a ship what would you expect?! Always fancied one of the aft balconies so hopefully we won't be disappointed. Enjoy you are on holiday:)
Victoria '82 Posted July 21, 2015 #4 Share Posted July 21, 2015 What you have to be aware of is not so much the pool but the area surrounding which is directly above the cabins. This is the outdoor eating area and smoking area(starboard side) and from 7am, maybe even earlier, folk are moving seats around their tables and this noise can be heard quite clearly if you are still in slumber. Not a good position. -------------------------------------- 111 P&O cruises - 12 in the pipeline
ann141 Posted July 21, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 21, 2015 We have twice had cabins on Riveria deck and not had a problem although we were at the front so it was the adult only pool above us-probably quieter than the main pools!:)
ann141 Posted July 21, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 21, 2015 should say below the pool not above!-senior moment!:D

We had a mid ship suite on Azura a couple of years ago & suffered this problem on a daily basis :( We would never book a mid ship cabin on either Azura or Ventura on R deck again. Our preference now is to book aft cabins which we think are great :) Joan
john watson Posted July 22, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 22, 2015 My preference on Riviera Deck is well aft, you are near the door leading straight out to the terrace pool complex at the end of the corridor. This is quiet and convenient for a lot of things. Location immediately beneath a pool may in some circumstances lead to problems. On a Grand Princess cruise a number of cabins were evacuated due to a major water leakage. Everything needed drying out and new mattresses were brought in it took a couple of days. I do not know what arrangements were made for the passengers affected while this work was being done. Normally any problems below pool area relates to the general surrounding area moving loungers and the scraping noises etc. Regards John
