Seeking Feedback on Roy "Freedom" Thomas of Javac Tours?

Does anyone have experience, good or bad, for Roy "Freedom" Thomas of Javac Tours? His reviews on TripAdvisor are excellent, but I can't find any comments on him via search on the boards.

I'm doing a partial canal transit in December and would like to look at alternatives to the ship tours. Saw the same reviews on Trip Advisor, and would love to know what experiences any Cruise Critic members have had.

Yes, he had very good TA reviews, didn't he?

 

I contacted him and had some conversations with him via email, but I was somewhat concerned by his "exuberant" claims. Being concerned, I booked with a guide who I had used before.

am looking to book a private tour that would not include the "touristy" things and jungles, beaches, and etc.  more interested in history of the city and culture. we would like to just design our own tour, i guess, with the help of a guide.  suggestions from those of you who have used a guide in limon? tia
