Shower Chair

Does anyone know firsthand if you can request a shower chair when you get on the ship. I am having back and leg problems and cannot get in a tub or stand long enough to take a shower. I do not need a handicap room, just a little assistance with that. Thanks.

I have read here you can request a shower chair from your steward.

Because they may be limited, you might wish to call Ship's Services in advance and request one be placed in your cabin.

Absolutely. Our room Steward brought one in unasked when he saw the wheelchair in the cabin last cruise.

We have our TA arrange to have one in the cabin.

I had a shower chair from HAL once and the legs were too wide to fit in the narrow tub. IMO, it's only useful in cabins with shower only.

Not always. On our last cruise on the Rotterdam, the steward gave us a shower chair that did fit in the small tub.

Good to know. Next time I'll try to get one that fits if the original one doesn't.
