Bases5 Posted August 1, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2015 I usually have 5-6 hundred obc. both bought and TA provided I was wondering how RCI handles this with regards to using you shipboard account upon boarding. I do not put a card on my account On Carnival I have full access to charging privileges immediately On NCL I could purchases 1 drink and my card would be shut off I would have to go to guest services and get it turned on. Your OBC doesn't really show up till day 2 (pain) I just went down and put $100 cash to fix it. On Princess My OBC was ready immediately So does any one know how Royal handles there OBC without a Credit Card
Clarea Posted August 1, 2015 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2015 Royal lets you charge up to $500 on a cash account before they ask you to pay it down.
cb at sea Posted August 2, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 2, 2015 You won't need to put any cash on your account. When your OBC is getting low, they'll ask you to "top off" your account.
Ken at the beach Posted August 2, 2015 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2015 As Bob said, they will let you charge $500 before asking you to put some money down. If you have $600 OBC then you will be able to charge up to $1100 before being asked to put any money down.
gizmo911 Posted August 2, 2015 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2015 Please forgive me for this but I really don't know....why would you buy OBC? Do you get some kind of discount and if so, how and where do you purchase it. Thanks

Thanks If Royal is offering a favorable exchange rate it can be beneficial to people outside the U.S., rather than having your credit card charged in U.S. Dollars on the ship
