This is directly copied from the Princess web site:

5. AGE REQUIREMENTS; DRINKING AGE; GAMING AGE; ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES.

The minimum passenger age is 6 months on Alaska, Canada/New England, Caribbean, Europe, Mexico and Transcanal cruises, and 12 months on all other cruises. Passengers under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a Passenger over the age of 21. In addition to proof of citizenship, regardless of the relationship of the adult traveling companion, all children must have a notarized letter(s) of consent to travel signed by the non traveling parent(s) or legal guardian(s) if both parents or legal guardians are not traveling with the child. This written consent must be presented at embarkation and accompany the child during his or her cruise. Children accompanied by only one parent must present a notarized letter of consent to travel signed by the other parent, unless sole legal custody has been granted. In the case of divorce, adoption or other circumstances, the parent or legal guardian is required to present proof of sole legal custody of the child. The Passengers may be refused boarding if they are unable to produce documentation that the child may travel with the adults who are present. No alcohol may be purchased or consumed by any Passengers under the age of 21. No Passenger under the age of 21 shall be permitted to engage in any gaming activities on board the ship.

Drinking age is 21.... but it sounds to me (IMHO) that it's not really going to matter what the "rule" is.... oh, but like the OP said in the first post... they aren't "Bad" kids! Whew!! I feel SOOOOOOO much better

I agree with Sprongerob.... Troubles-a-brewing!!

welll i figured to gamble it was 18 cas on carnival its 18...and i kno this for sure it was 18 on carnival....and there will be people in my group over 21 coming with us so we shouldnt have any problems

I wouldn't count on that.

No possible way you will be in the casino at 18 on Princess....well at least not for long anyway. You can get into bars at 18 but you won't be served alcoholic beverages.

A tad tasteless...
Natalie Holloway is hopefully a wake-up for parents that when they send their kids to foreign countries without adequate supervision, even the best kids will do things they wouldn't do at home. People think of the Caribbean as an extension of the US but it's not -- these are foreign countries and bad things can happen there just as they can in the U.S. If anything happens to any of you, you will have to live with that for the rest of your lives. Not knowing or not being prepared is no excuse.

Sounds like the Carnival crew wasn't enforcing its own rules, as far as drinking is concerned. Here are the age limits, as posted on Carnival's web site:

Drinking Alcoholic Beverages:

Guest must be 21 years of age or older to be served alcohol on board. Proper I.D. with birth date is required.

Casino:

Guest must be 18 years of age or older to play the tables and the slot machines. Guests under 18 years of age are not permitted in the casino.
