Foggy Bay Posted September 12, 2015 #151 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Our first cruise was on the Statendam Circle Hawaii April 2002. My late DH did not fly and wanted to see Hawaii. He was determined he would not like cruising but it was a means of transportation to where he wanted to go. Flash forward to day 2 of the cruise. We walk into the Ocean Bar and sat down. Two waiters rushed over, "Sir Virgil, Ma'am Trisha, sprite with lemon and diet coke"? We had been there once. Virgil kicked back crossed his ankles looked at me and said, "Yeah, I could get used to this." We never looked back.:) That is an awesome story! Loved it. :)

Himself Posted September 13, 2015 #154 Share Posted September 13, 2015 I did the Rotterdam in 1977 7 day cruise out of NYC to both Bermuda and Nassau, great great cruise, cost was 600 for a single room, have cruised every year since, Heinekens were 75 cents. My first HAL Cruise was on the old Nieuw Amsterdam--the 1983 Version--and I did this cruise in early November 1996 out of New Orleans to the Western Caribben Cosmel, Montego Bay and Grand Caymen.
