jillpra Posted September 10, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2015 So I've only cruised on Royal Caribbean in a grand suite once and have a gold card. How much of a discount do you get for instance if you make it to platinum? Is there a certain percentage off or depends on season? Just not sure how beneficial it is to try to reach platinum in 2 additional cruises. Also, if you reach platinum during your cruise, do they give you the perks during that cruise or once you get home? Thanks. Jill

Your benefits won't kick in until your next cruise. We took a 3 day cruise to nowhere on Quantum last November and was considered Platinum then. Our Platinum pins were waiting for us when we entered the room along with the listing of Platinum on board perks. I believe the balcony discount is $100 per cabin. Ken at the beach Posted September 10, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Here are the discounts by level. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2015457&highlight=balcony+discount
Cigar King Posted September 10, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 10, 2015 Depending on the length of the cruise you get a defined amount of money off a balcony of higher booking. Maybe a hundred bucks. It's not really worth it if you are think about getting the GS just to get to the discount rate earlier. Officially you don't change levels until after the cruise completes. If you're just going to Platinum there's no reason to want the extra perks...especially if you are in a suite which will already have better perks. AustinCruise Posted September 11, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2015 My view is the levels do not help much. Esp is your in a suite.
