kakalina Posted September 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) Yesterday I received an email offer that was too good to be true. I just got off the phone with HAL and it is true. :D I just booked the 47 day Tales of The South Pacific and all I have to pay is taxes, port fees and HSC. The cabin is free. Yeah, really gratis. It's a casino offer. I couldn't pass this up. Seriously, a 47 day cruise for a total of $757.51!!! I can even take a guest if I choose. And that price includes insurance. I know it is gauche to speak about pricing but hey, this is amazing. It is like a small miracle for me as I never thought I would get the opportunity to take Virgil's ashes to Bora Bora as he wanted but saved some in case. Now I can. :) I am so excited and somewhat intimidated as I've never cruised alone - but hey world here I come! holacanada Posted September 12, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Hello kakalina ! You're gonna love it ! For sure ! I made half of my cruises by myself and I enjoyed every minutes of it ! P.S. : do not hesitate to speak to all the people onboard you want... Holacanada
Rare Scrapnana Posted September 12, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) That really is an amazing offer especially for a solo! I have cruised over 150 days as a solo and love it. I've found meeting people in advance on the roll call has been a fantastic help in not feeling alone. I still meet many non-Cruise Critic people onboard so I know lots of people by the end. Hope you have a wonderful time! Edited September 12, 2015 by Scrapnana
cp556 Posted September 12, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2015 I am so happy for you! All I can think of is that God works in mysterious ways ... you'll be able to do what Virgil asked of you. How wonderful is that?? When are you sailing?
jaspersmycat Posted September 12, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Good for you. I know from experience what a huge step it is to take that first cruise alone. I'm just finished my 4th and each has been better than the last. My words to live by are: "You need to be willing to let go of the life you planned in order to make the life you are meant to live." rockdoctor Posted September 12, 2015 #19 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Congratulations! On our last HAL cruise, there was a solo traveller at our table in the MDR. She was really enjoying her cruise. Saw her at the Mariner's luncheon and had a great time. It's all about attitude!
