Tudorcruisers Posted September 12, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 12, 2015 Had never thought about this until my adaptor broke on recent cruise to Bermuda. Instore shops didn't stock any UK adapters and guest services didn't have any. Note to self - pack a spare next time !! Wonderful concierge charged my phone and camera but if she hadn't been so helpful I would have been really stuck and will carry a spare In future. Enforcer Posted September 16, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2015 Hi, in my experience all modern ships have European and USA plug sockets in the cabin, at least one of each. Pete
lisiamc Posted September 16, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2015 (edited) Hi, in my experience all modern ships have European and USA plug sockets in the cabin, at least one of each. Pete Yes, but neither of them will take a UK plug, so if the adapter breaks, that's two sockets I can't use. I agree that it's best to carry a spare. lisiamc Posted September 17, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Hi, So if you have a European and an American adapter you can take both. Pete Oh, ok, I see what you're saying now! I've travelled with a universal adapter for so long, I no longer think in terms of separate ones. When mine breaks, it's usually unusable for any plug. :p

Piermaster Posted September 21, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I take a 4-way UK extension bar (fully insulated and Portable Appliance Tested) plus a UK/US adaptor and that does all our needs for charging phones, laptop, and razors.
