angie1818 Posted September 19, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2015 I just missed a call from the up sale fairy. She is offering us the Owners Suite / Penthouse. But I don't have any details. We currently have a Grande Suite, 4 BFFs on a girls cruise. The "Suite Specialist is off until Monday so I can't get any details and not knowing is killing me! She is holding until I talk to her on Monday. Has anyone ever had the same opportunity and about what was the up sale cost. Was it worth it? What would be a good deal. How do they choose who they offer it too. This is my 18th Carnival cruise and I have only been offered a regular upgrade once! Is this a "special" offer? Help! Any info would help my curiosity! Thanks
forwardcabin Posted September 19, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2015 (edited) On Fantasy class ships, there are two Penthouse suites located above Camp Carnival and below the runners track. They are at the top of the atrium and have cabin numbers PH-1 and PH-2. They are not shown in the deck plans. They have a separate sitting room and bedroom, large screen TV, jet tub, vanity area, and large closet. They actually have a connecting door between the two suites in the closet! You will have a mini bar and fridge and a small balcony that will have a lifeboat in front of it, obstructing your view to the water. Friends we knew who stayed in it on a Carnival Ecstasy cruise some years ago said it was always hot--the A/C wasn't always working well. They also said there was noise from the walking track above and from Camp Carnival below. It is VERY expensive. However, you do have large floor-to-ceiling windows out of which you have full view of Lido deck. Check youtube for videos of the actual suite. Here's hoping you get the cabin you want. Bon Voyage! BETSY DOLL Posted September 19, 2015 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Ask the PVP to send you the floor plan. I would take it if all agree to split costs and it is not too expensive. At least you can say you stayed there!!! Enjoy!
SurfCat Posted September 19, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2015 I can't wait to find what the details once you find out. I've cruised on Fantasy class ships the last three trips and have inquired about the owners suites each time with no success. I'd pay pretty much whatever they ask just to have the experience. Good luck.
marshhawk Posted September 19, 2015 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2015 What a great offer! We were looking at the suites this week, DH was curious. Since you cant book them but with an invitation, I would do it if it was in the budget, all the girls fit in it, and maybe because it's a once in a lifetime thing. But if the other girls are cruising for the first time, then maybe not. I would want them to have a "normal" experience, otherwise they would think all cruises are like that. LOL. Have fun! Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 19, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2015 We were lucky to get in one on the Ecstasy. Fantastic rooms with entry at the top of the main atrium (one on each side). An entry area with bar, large balcony, living room and a separate bedroom with floor to ceiling privacy glass to the main pool area. Also a huge bathroom with a very large whirlpool tub changing area and huge walk in closet. Wish they had them on other ships. The closet thing would be the Captains suites on some of the Conquest class.
sanmarcosman Posted September 19, 2015 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2015 The PH spaces needed to be updated (especially the bathroom) when we sailed her sister ship the Carnival Imagination and agree the space did get hot and my wife was woken up from early risers on the jogging track overhead. Rare jimbo5544 Posted September 19, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 19, 2015 If you don't mind me asking... How much was the upgrade... Ballpark figure? Not a good person to ask. This was right after they had implemented the platinum program. The ship was over booked (post Katrina when they had offered it up to use for workers in New Orleans) we got it for free. nybumpkin Posted September 19, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 19, 2015 We had one of the owner's suites on Fantasy four years ago. It wasn't cheap - an extra $2 K on a 7 day cruise for 4 people. If I had received the call I probably would have said "thanks but no thanks." However, DH got the call and decided to splurge. He looked at it as a once in a lifetime experience. We really liked it - the only complaint I had was the thumping overhead from the track. One day we hosted a get-together for folks from our CC roll call. We also ordered room service several times since we had a table. I probably wouldn't take the offer again, but I'm happy we had the opportunity. disneylover89 Posted September 21, 2015 #11 Share Posted September 21, 2015 We received the call for the Owners Suite on the Ecstasy, we already had a Grand Suite with extended balcony booked. The cost was $600 per person for a total of $2400. We turned it down.

Not_Done_Living Posted September 21, 2015 #13 Share Posted September 21, 2015 We were in the Sensation Owners Suite last year and it was wonderful.. We just called and booked it directly though .. it is a VIP experience from the point you show your ID at the terminal -- we had 3 people handling our luggage, they carried it right up to the room -- my 9 year old foster daughter got to be "the first passenger" on the ship ... lots of smiles and service! disneylover89 Posted September 21, 2015 #14 Share Posted September 21, 2015 I'd prefer the Grand Suite over the Owner's Suite anytime. I agree! The extended balcony was awesome on the Grand Suite and we really use our balcony a lot. The Owners Suite is absolutely beautiful inside and the service is fantastic but I did not like the balcony views at all.

I'm excited, I took the upgrade! Question,.... You didn't check your luggage when you drove in? Or did the porters recognize your tags and handle them different? I normally have priority Checking since I'm platinum. Do they do it different when your in the owners suite? Thanks for all your help!

Or did the porters recognize your tags and handle them different? I normally have priority Checking since I'm platinum. Do they do it different when your in the owners suite? Thanks for all your help! We did check in out luggage and they were already at our room by the time we breezed through boarding... the porters scooped up our carry on (including a case of Soda and a case of Water). These were not the guys outside -- when we entered the terminal and showed our id and boading pass, the "greeter" grabbed his radio and said "Our P2 guests are here" and then like magic we had help -- through security, through the checkin and photo process, up to the waiting lounge (for 5 minutes) they held back the Platinums and the wedding party to allow us through -- right up to our room. I wasn't expecting that but luckily had some cash for tips ... Then on the ship itself whenever we showed our S&S card to be swiped (there was nothing to indicate our suite on the card) the crew would say "Oh VIP!" and be extra friendly. it was a great experience for our foster daughter who had never gone anywhere before -- and to be treated as VIP made her vacation!
