"Some amazing changes coming to Celebrity fleet" announcement mid-week this week!

What I find interesting is, no announcement on Millennium, which is the oldest M-Class ship. I certainly think it means that Summit & Infinity wont be sold anytime soon. It will be interesting to see if this plan is extended to Millennium & Constellation.

Re-reading this thread after being away, so i'm sorry if this was mentioned...do you think they would change the location of Tuscan on Connie from its location upstairs where the conservatory was located? We think it's the best Tuscan fleetwide....and liked the location...

Your timing couldn't be better. :-)

Just yesterday, we were asked to start accumulating a single list of the most common website issues we get from customers.

I have been posting many. We have a single form on a GoogleDocs that we are all adding the issues to as we come across them. I've listed half a dozen issues or so far.....

  • Not showing taxes till last step of booking
  • Adding gratuities to the bill even if one picked free gratuities or at least make a note it will be removed so people don't freak
  • the Jr. fiasco
  • Adjust BBB pricing display so it only offers perks that are financially helpful to the customer
  • Make it easier to "go back" in a reservation process to the start without losing it all
  • Display ALL open cabins, not just 5, so people can seek connecting cabins easier
  • Make Luggage tag ordering simpler, like add a check box as part of OLCI to mail them automatically if one wants them, don't require a visit back

If you have a pet peeve or 2, email them to me, happy to add them if not already there. But we do need specifics, and links to failed pages etc. are most helpful.

Curt...just curious...who are the "we" that are being asked to gather information ? Is this the Celeb rep online position they interviewed online for? I see my ques was already answered a few posts back....I have been re reading the thread... sorry to bring this up again!

Additionally, the MUTS are very popular on other cruise lines especially those who have larger numbers of families and children on board. I personally don't think it's a good fit on Celebrity ships unless they were able to get first run movies like Disney which shows movies from Disney on the ships the same week they are in theaters.

Disney shows their first run movies in their indoor cinema, the Buena Vista Theater (or the main Walt Disney Theater when they have a major hit movie). The movies shown outdoors are usually older Disney classics.

Maybe this is the big announcement? press release mentions 3 Celebrity ships along with the Royal ships:

if Celeb IT Dept is involved it will all crash and then have glitches...

Every ship needs a robot mixing your drinks..enhances the cruise experience...NOT!

perhaps the announcment will be about the shows..have seen some of the previews on line..feh!

...Why do I have to tell them how many Celebrity cruises we've taken. They should know.

eads about a disastrous experience, people at X should not be giggling, they should know by now that their IT department is synonymous with incompetence.

Sorry to get off topic but that seems to be the norm for the amazing news that was released.... ;)

I agree...my biggest pet peeve with the process is having to enter the "travel to the ship and from the ship", airline information in our case, TWICE. Why can't they just have a drop down, "same as first passenger" box!

That's whats so awesome about the new service coming, it's really at traditional land based speeds.

Interesting, it won't work on TA's or Repo's, which I guess makes sense based on satellite positioning....

Do you know if the new internet service will allow wifi calls from your cell phone now also? I have T-Mobile, and if that service is available..........I will be thrilled.

Some people love Princess for offering laundry service...for me...forget it...after spending thousands of dollars on the cruise I am not spending hours sitting in a laundry......neither is my wife....although, if one of us HAD to....it would not be ME....lol

LOL!!

I have a buddy, and I'm not making this up, met his wife at a "Laundry Bar"

She owned it!

To add: it's a real challenge to find your airport, airports are not in alphabetic order... and you need to do it twice...

You don't have to enter that information at all.

That section is optional, not required, so we just skip it.

The only reason I would bother to enter it would be if I had booked my airline reservations through the cruise line.

Just found my way to this thread. My apologies for not sifting through the 500+ posts, but can someone summarize what these "amazing" changes amounted to ?

Thanks,

Tom

Following changes to Infinity, presumably similar changes to Summit in March

1. Rooftop Terrace on Infinity

2. New Wallpaper, less wood in Penthouse

3. New Bathrooms (completely gutted)

4. Total redo to dining area on RS

5. New tub inside Penthouse on Infinity

6. Total rehab to solarium pool, a lot of replaced furniture

7. Redo of Casino (lots of new slots/electronic games, new carpet, new wall coverings, but looks the same

8. Removal of SS United States (Murano type restaurant on Infinity) and replacement with Tuscan Grill 2.0

9. Lots of other media hype without substance

10. Anything else others will post that I missed.

Happy sailing,

Jenna

Regarding #3 above, is that ALL bathrooms in ALL cabins? Or just the RS? Thanks for the help. ;)

So, this was all to do with dry dock changes to 1 (or 2) ship/s? Interesting. I had hoped it was some fleet wide changes.

Thanks,

Tom

Does anyone know when the Millie will be refurbished? Also, what is the best restaurant and why of the specialty restaurants in your opinion!

Many thanks in advance!

No word I've seen on Millie's next Drydock.

On Millenium it's the Murano type restaurant (The Olympic) or maybe Luminae in our opinion. Based on experience, decor, quality of food, service. The only other option currently I'd Qsine or Bistro on 5 for specialty dining.

Happy sailing,

Jenna
