awesome grandma Posted October 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2015 Does anyone know the nearest beach to Dolphin Discovery at Bird Rock, St Kitts? Would like to do the Dolphin Discovery early in the day and then spend the rest of the day at a public beach. I spoke with someone from Dolphin Discovery, who told me there is a public beach 15 minutes from Dolphin Discovery, but didn't know the name. Looking for a white beach on the Caribbean preferably. paul58 Posted October 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2015 All beaches in St Kitts are open to the public. There are really no White Sand beaches in St Kitts. They are a little darker in color, as they are volcanic in origin not coral. The closest beach to dolphin discovery at Bird Rock would be South Frigate Bay or over Sir Timothy Hill to South Friars Beach, both of these beaches would be on the Caribbean side of the island. awesome grandma Posted August 10, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 10, 2016 Is there a difference between the two beaches of S. Frigate Bay and South Friars Beach?
paul58 Posted August 10, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2016 There is not much difference other than the distance to the port. South Frigate Bay would be closest. Both have numerous beach bar/restaurants. The beach may be wider on South Friars. The snorkeling is probably better on South Friars but St Kitts is not known for its beaches or snorkeling.
