Nalgene bottle in ports?

I usually carry a big bottle of water in a backpack in ports however I was considering taking a Nalgene bottle on our next cruise (basically a plastic bottle with a lid). I know we can bring it on and off the ship but do we have to empty it before and after we embark and disembark in ports? (I know it has to be empty when boarding) i don't want to carry it if I'm gonna have to dump it out at every port

We took a Camelbak on our last cruise, and we filled it with with water and ice every morning. We had no issues at all bringing it back on board, and it almost always had some left over. Never had a problem coming back on board.

Not sure if that helps, but I think the worst thing you would run into is they make you dump it out before getting back on.

You do not have to empty to leave or enter the ship. They do not care if you have a full water bottle.
