Advice please

Hi,

 

We are sailing on the Christmas cruise onboard the CCL Breeze. We went on the same cruise last October but missed DR because of a tropical system. I am sailing with my husband and our three sons (17, 14 and 4). We are hoping to find a relaxing beach day in La Romana. Any advice would be appreciated whether a beach excursions through Carnival or on our own. We leave soon so all advice is welcomed.
