tigger60430 Posted October 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 1, 2005 What's the best way to get cash during the cruise, for ports and excursions? Can I cash a personal check, or travelers checks, or can you put a cash advance on your Sea Pass? Or do you just board with a wad of cash in your pocket? Mikey8Ohio Posted October 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2005 The easiest and cheapest way is to go to the casino and get cash on your seapass. This way you avoid the ATM fees, and it is simply put on the credit/debit card you surrendered at the start of the cruise. It is not charged as a cash advance on your CC and if you pay it off in 30 days, no interest. :)
cherub44 Posted October 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2005 You can cash travelers checks at the pursers desk or you can go to the casino and get a cash advance on your Seapass account. If you are paying your Seapass with a credit card the cash advance from the casino will go on your card as a purchase and not as a cash advance. FitzLA Posted October 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2005 You can cash a check at the pursers deck, but only up to $200 one time during the cruise. Guests with an American Express Card can cash a check up to $250.

superjerryw Posted October 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2005 I just ask the other passengers to give me some cash in the spirit of good fellowship and brotherhood. Did I mention that I'm 6' 5", weigh 275 and have 22" biceps.....
emeraldcity Posted October 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2005 Not only is the casino a great way to exchange traveler's checks for cash, you won't be likely to hit the lines that you run into at the purser's desk. The purser's desk is handling plenty of other things ... many of which take quite a bit of time ... the casino is dealing only in quickly dispensing cash.
