Water temperature in pools on Grand

We just returned from a cruise on the Grand. Did anyone else find the water in the pools to be too cold?

I was looking forward to a lovely swim. When I got to the pool I was delighted to see that there was no one in the water, although lots of people were sitting around sunbathing. When I tested the water I realised why there was no one swimming - it was really cold. I tried every pool and they were all the same.

Last year we were on the Golden in the Caribbean and the water was delightful.

I really think Princess should have some consistency about this. It should be comfortable to use the pools whatever area of the world you happen to be in, or even whatever time of year.

I found all of the pools except for one to have a nice temperature. The only pool in which the water was unbearably cold was the aft pool. I thought that this was because it was under the nightclub and the constant shadow on the pool kept the temp in it low.

I'll let you know what I think in about 2 months, but in the past, all the Princess pools we've been in have been comfortable. Carnival is another story (ice cubes would be shivering floating in their pools!). :D

Was the outside temp. low? I notice with our pool, that no matter how warm it is, if the air is cold outside, it makes the water feel colder. In 100 degree heat, 83 degrees is good in the pool. In 85 degree heat, the pool feels best around 90 degrees.

Oddly enough the only Princess cruise I ever took on which I found the pools cold was on the Grand. And that was in the Caribbean. Just took a 3-day coastal on the Island and the pools were ALL like bathwater... and that was from Vancouver! Now that I realize the pool temp issue is a chronic one I may re-think cruising on the Grand again.

Hello! Iam on the Grand right now (getting off tommorrow :-( and I hve thought the pools were al lchilly, up until yesterday. The Conservatory pool was wonderful, and the hottub was actually HOT! A litle too hot really. They are always so luke warm, princess wide in my opinion. I have always attributed that to the high volume of kids in there,. but this cruise there are hardly any kids at all. Maybe that is why the cranked up the heat!

The only pool I used on The Grand was the adults only - aft. It was very coooool. But, I agree, it is probably because it is in the shadows most of the day. People would put in one foot and make the funniest faces. I think by Friday we were able to get all the way in :D

Thanks for all your replies. The air temperatures were in the 70s, so perhaps that kept the pool temperatures down (it was obviously cooler at night as well).

I found the hot tubs to be so hot I could barely sit in for more than a couple of minutes - and I like warm water! Oh, well seems like there's no pleasing me on this occasion!

I really did enjoy the swimming pools last year on the Golden, but the air temperatures were in the 80s/90s then, so that perhaps explains it.
