frito58 Posted October 3, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 3, 2005 First of all I hate to type, so i'll give a quick overview and try to answer any questions. Embarkation was easy but we stayed with our nephew in St. Pete so we were there at 10:30 and was eating lunch on board at noon. Booked a 4A guarantee got a 4D on the Empress deck aft, what a great location very convenient to everything. We had early seating for dinner,5:45 had wonderful table mates and great waiters in Jackson and Pataradda, this is our fourth cruise, the menu is about the same each time but the food was wonderful. This was the first cruise we've had a matre'd who was personable. His name was Babu and every night he came around to say hi and ask how everything was ,not just show up on the night before tips to checkin like i've seen 3 times before. The crew was as freindly as any crew we've encountered, always smiling saying hello. We've been to Grand Cayman and Cozumel before so we just shopped at GC. Went to Paradise Beach on Cozumel. It was nice had a good time there. My wife got lots of sun, I tried a waverunner for the first time, I'm 47, The service was great and prices very reasonable. The shows onboard were the best we've seen on carnival. The ship was in great shape, there was basically no movement at all. I heard someone say its that way after a hurricane passes through{Rita]. The Casino was good to me hit a straight flush on 3 card poker payed $450. Lot of people were hitting good hands on that game, heard they closed it early on the last night. Like I said if you have any questions will try answer asap, We had a blast I would recomend this ship to anyone...............Steve
cathyoo Posted October 3, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 3, 2005 Hi Steve, glad you had such a good time. We sailed the Inspiration the beginning of 05. Jackson was our waiter also. We loved the ship and the Tampa port. We enjoyed Paradise beach and the drinks in the pineapples. The Inspiration was good to us also. I won $600 at bingo, my sil won $200 and my sister won over $500 on the nickel machines.
seashell36 Posted October 3, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 3, 2005 Steve, I'm glad you had a good time on the Inspiration. DH & I will be on Inspiration 10-10. Less than a week now! Where did you all shop on GC? We are doing a short snorkel and then wanted to stop for some shopping. Traci
starfish3 Posted October 3, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2005 Steve: Glad to hear your travel on the Inspiration went well. Our family sets sail on 12/24 with the same port stops. We are also planning on Paradise Beach. Was there a charge for using the water toys (iceberg, trampoline)? We'd love to hear more about your cruise since this will be our first time! SUNNY D Posted October 3, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 3, 2005 Thanks for the review Steve. DH and I are also going on th 10/10 sailing with seashell36. We are planning on going to Paradise Beach in the AM before an afternoon excursion. What time were you there, and did you notice a wait for the wave runners and parasailing? Did you have to rent the waverunner at the beach next store and how much was it? Thanks again for the review. :)
frito58 Posted October 3, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted October 3, 2005 Hey everyone, shopping at GC is all right around where you tender in all the shops are within walking distance. If you purchase liquor in GC its taken to the ship for you, Your not aloud to carry it back on your own. I think the charge for all the stuff at Paradise beach, floating mats, iceberg and trampoline was $8 each all day. We got to the beach around 11 because it was cloudy earlier also there were only 2 ships in port that day. The waverunner was $55 dollars for a half hour, and they rent them right on the beach at the end, there was no wait they had plenty. Parasailing was there also I didn't check on the price. Doughboy77 Posted October 4, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2005 My wife and I will be on the Inspiration on 10/15. What kind of safes do they have on board? The kind that you need a card with magnetic strip for, or did they have a keypad? Thanks!

MichelleP Posted October 5, 2005 #14 Share Posted October 5, 2005 Glad to hear you had such a good time! We're cruising on the Inspiration in December for the first time. We'll have to give the casino a try - sounds luckier than the other ships.
