Pictures taken between Monday December 28 and Sunday January 3.

Welcome to year five of the PAW Project!

With over a thousand replies and fifty-five thousand views, 2015's PAW postings seem to have been well received. But what about this year? We have many new posters who discovered this little corner of Cruise Critic and many regulars who have added new joy to their gear bags, so let's resolve (or re-resolve) to take at least one photo every week. Use your new $8000 DSLR, $100 P&S, your phone or any other image recording device. It doesn't matter. Just take the time every week to clear your head, look around at the world and find something that interests you, inspires you or just strikes your fancy. I'm not sure which part is considered one's "fancy" but if yours gets struck, take a picture of whatever struck it!

Happy New year and Happy Shooting!

Dave

Thank you for this thread pierces. I’m a Johnny-come-lately to this thread and I hope to add at least one photo every week…with the exception of my cruise weeks of course. I don’t own any expensive camera equipment so I’m glad all are welcome to post photos.

Here’s my submission for this week.

Welcome!

Just wanted to say that the "rules" don't say you have to post within the period, just that the photo has to be taken within the span. Cruise all you want and shoot to your heart's content then post your photos from those weeks to the related thread when you get back.

These pictures below were not taken by my while in being in Virginia visiting with our two grandsons, etc. BUT, in many parts of the world, it is already 2016!! Would have loved to have been in Sydney, Australia, for their spectacular New Years Eve fireworks. How did it look? See below! Maybe there will be a future opportunity for us to be there to participate for this celebration in maybe the world's best looking harbor setting.

Best wishes to everyone for 2016, enlightenment from discovering more of the world, safety in travel and fun/excitement in life, etc.!

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Enjoyed a 14-day, Jan. 20-Feb. 3, 2014, Sydney to Auckland adventure, getting a big sampling for the wonders of "down under” before and after this cruise. Go to:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1974139

for more info and many pictures of these amazing sights in this great part of the world. Now at 130,312 views for this posting.

From Bing's web search engine, here are just a few of the great visuals of the celebration to welcome in the New Year in Sydney. Is there a better place for such a wonderful fireworks show?:

My son at work, C-17 on a mission, out of Charleston SC.

Tom

Aloha Tom and Happy New Year!

The Univ. of Hawaii women's basketball once had this itsy-bitsy guard, 5'4" soaking wet. All-WAC two years, quicksolver reflexes and moves.

She is now a Captain, USAF, and flies the C-17. Can't believe someone so tiny can captain a C17!

The yearly dog agility gathering was today again - made a great day in 70 degree weather - before the rain comes tomorrow:(

These suckers are so fast! Even at 1/2500 they still were a challenge to get clear shots. Used manual focus because the AF just couldn't reliably pick them up in the split second that they came into frame.

I think I know where that is. Are you starting to dry out yet?

Yes, the flood water is receding but the Meramec River in Arnold, MO is still 10 feet over flood stage. Today will be the first day that all major roads in the county will be open. There are still many county roads closed in areas near the river. The water was so high it flooded Interstate Highways 44 and 55 causing the closure of those two interstates.

This flooding was unbelievable, the river crested at 2 feet higher than the previous record causing houses to flood that had never been flooded before. It’s going to take many months for the cleanup and things to get back to normal.

As the water recedes it leaves behind tons of trash.

Google Photo's stinks...It's like a crapshoot anymore if they show up anymore, sometimes only in PC's but not mobile devices...I can't figure it out.

I can see them on my laptop but not my Android phone now.

This is using the link Google generates for "sharing":

Please let me know what you all see, I'm really trying to figure this one out, as it only started happening in the past few weeks. Thanks.
