Table Minimums in Casino?

Anybody recently notice what the minimum bets are on Holland America, specifically for Blackjack? We were on Princess a few months ago and we found that the minimum bet for blackjack was now $10 after being at $5 for many years. Did Holland America "follow suit"?

We have been on HAL cruises when the minimum Blackjack bet was $5 and when it was $10. It seems to depend on the cruise. At any rate, we cruised on the Eurodam during Thanksgiving week and the week after. There were $5 tables and $10 tables.

Also found that the $5 limit tables are still there and very popular. One day there was $1 blackjack - it was a blast!

I think it depends how busy they are. When things are slower they tend to have a $5 table. You can always ask them to open one, if they have enough dealers they usually will.

On the Amsterdam they had $5 and $10 tables. The $10 table had better odds on a black jack than the $5 table. Incentive !

I was on the 50 day Maasdam.

 

The BJ's started out at $5. Later in the cruise they dropped it to $3.

 

I think it was the same for "Fun BJ" and 3 Card Poker.

 

The problem is a Blackjack pays only 6 for 5 NOT 3 for 2.

We just got off the Zuiderdam. There was $5 Black Jack, Fun 21, Three Card Poker, Let it Ride, roulette, and Caribbean Stud. $10 black jack. Also Craps bit we didn't play so not sure of the limit. Electronic Poker for $1/$2 games.

 

One Black Jack table was $25 by request but when he wasn't playing it was $10.
