Elaine5715 Posted February 1, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Your carry on can be opened for inspection of its contents. Sure but you are expected to not put your sodas inside your carry on. It will stop the line so for you to take it out and some ports send you to a secondary liquid carry on line so by having the sodas outside your luggage, it will make it easier. WindsorFred Posted February 1, 2016 #28 Share Posted February 1, 2016 We were booked on a B2B right now on the Triumph but had to cancel due to medical problems. Everyone that I've heard from on that B2B were allowed to bring only 1 bottle of wine onboard. The other was confiscated and were told they would get it back on the 2nd leg. I haven't heard if that happened. We just completed a B2B on the Conquest out of Ft Lauderdale. We brought on 2 bottles of wine each and had our boarding passes for both legs out. They never even checked our carry-ons but did ask if we had wine in them to which we replied yes. They passed us right thru.
dawnjam1 Posted February 1, 2016 #29 Share Posted February 1, 2016 A good way to do it is pull a smaller rolling suitcase (airline carry on size) and put your soda in there so that it can easily be opened and looked at. Wine can go in there as well. Then use a backpack to take your bathing suit or whatever else you are carrying on.
Denisomo Posted February 1, 2016 #30 Share Posted February 1, 2016 We always carry our cokes in the 12 pack they come in, they inspect them and put them back in, they do not have to be in a carry on, we cruise out of Galveston.
cbhbutler Posted February 2, 2016 #31 Share Posted February 2, 2016 Anyone know if I'll have a problem carrying on a 12 pk of redbull.. I've heard the ships don't have it anymore and I like to drink it while I'm playing poker in the casino...plus I use it as a mixer. I can't handle Rockstar or monster or water they are selling now... dawnjam1 Posted February 2, 2016 #32 Share Posted February 2, 2016 I, too, cruise out of Galveston. I have seen them open them very unceremoniously and then make it hard to close back up. I only suggest a bag of sorts to keep it all in one place after. The DO open the cardboard.
PTAngel Posted February 2, 2016 #33 Share Posted February 2, 2016 We are going on our first Carnival cruise in 5 + weeks. It is a port intensive cruise. I'm sorry but I can't justify the price of the soda package ($96.00) for maybe 2 sodas per day. I am going to carry on 2 12 packs on with us. My only concern is I also have to carry a CPAP machine & our medicines & electronics. This stuff is too heavy for me to carry so I thought about a rolling duffel bag but now it looks like I have to have them open. I'm too old to be a pack animal. I'm going to look around & see if I can find my old bag dolly. I hope they will all fit on that so security can see them & I won't hold up the line. Yes, use a bag dolly and I would suggest FTTF if you can get it. That way you can get into your room right away and won't have to lug everything around until the rooms open up. funnyfarm9988 Posted February 2, 2016 #35 Share Posted February 2, 2016 can you bring a small rolling type ice chest (collapsable ones) and bring the sodas in that or does it need to stay in the 12 pack cartons?

If you are only drinking two sodas a day, just buy them individually or the ones in the room, they are like $2.24 each.
Cushing985 Posted February 2, 2016 #37 Share Posted February 2, 2016 Your carry on can be opened for inspection of its contents. Exactly. We put 1 or 2 12 packs in a small wheeled carry-on bag and have never had a problem.
Cushing985 Posted February 2, 2016 #38 Share Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) can you bring a small rolling type ice chest (collapsable ones) and bring the sodas in that or does it need to stay in the 12 pack cartons? Somewhere on the Carnival site they have the maximum size for a ice chest. I believe the size limits it to one that can only carry a six pack. We use one that folds up and fits nicely in the small wheeled carry-on where we put our cokes. I think Wal-Mart or Target carries them. I don't think Carnival cares if the drinks are in the original carton. Not sure why they would. Edited February 2, 2016 by Cushing985

teknoge3k Posted February 5, 2016 #46 Share Posted February 5, 2016 I am going to jump on this thread as well... I know you can take 12 cans in per person. However does each person have to carry their own drinks, or is it per party? It's going to be 4 of us traveling and we will all be going in together. It's my wife and 2 kids. Do I have to take 4 12 packs, or can I just take 2 cases? (It's the same amount of cans obviously, just packaged differently)

Greselda Posted February 5, 2016 #48 Share Posted February 5, 2016 We would like to bring a 4 pack of 6.3 oz ea (which = 24 ounces) of wine instead of one 750ml (which = 25 ounces) of wine.....would that be permitted? The four little bottles are almost the exact same ounces as the one large bottle......just asking.....thanks:D

knagl Posted February 6, 2016 #50 Share Posted February 6, 2016 Anyone know if I'll have a problem carrying on a 12 pk of redbull. No problem at all. Has anyone brought on larger cans than the 12 oz cans?? I didn't try, but the rules on Carnival's website do specify 12oz (or smaller) cans, so you might be turned away. What about bringing back a 12 pack you bought in port? Is that still a gray area? According to posts here and posts by John Heald, that is not permitted. Not sure why it wouldn't be permitted, or why John Heald wouldn't be aware of his own company's policies. Per Carnival's website, you may bring an additional 12-pack of non-alcoholic beverages on board when in port. (Source: Carnival.com | Liquor and Beverage Policy) Since there seems to be varied knowledge of the policy, it might not be a bad idea to have a printed copy of the policy from that page with you. It's the second paragraph under "Purchasing Liquor During the Cruise > Ports of Call" which applies. For the record, I brought a 12-pack of Diet Coke on board after our first port stop on my cruise last month, and nobody gave it a second look.
