cruiserking Posted October 20, 2005 #54 Share Posted October 20, 2005 Hey Rula40, Why don't you go and have a Coke and a smile already. This is the happy go lucky we We love Cunard - QM2 and QE2 thread. No bickering and or pouting posts here please. Go find another ship to sail on and let us have our surly security guards and our chaotic Kings Court to ourselves. I was just going to write - You know you're a Cunard regular if.. You'd like to move into this thread and escape the negative rantings echoing elsewhere on these Cunard boards. Onward and Upward, baby. Now where were we, You know you're a Cunard regular if.... Cruising Ken Posted October 20, 2005 #56 Share Posted October 20, 2005 You know you are a regular cunarder if you know, what runs from stem to stern on the portside, from port to starboard on the stern and from stern to stem on the starboard side of QE2. mtbny7 Posted October 21, 2005 #61 Share Posted October 21, 2005 You know that if you miss Afternoon Tea you can still get some tea sandwiches/cookies/cakes at 5 PM in the Lido (Starboard Side Forward in Lido) near the coffee bar. This is where the staff places the left-over items from the (now finished) tea service. Michael NYC
vonBecks Posted October 23, 2005 #62 Share Posted October 23, 2005 - your lounger on sun deck is reserved and set-up for you..... - you refuse a free glass of Champagne at the parties and get your Cosmo served while shaking hands with...... - you loose weight after several back-to-backs - you get your afternoon tea served at any time in the Yacht Club with a smile - you get your ashtray emptied after the first puff. Ken_W Posted October 28, 2005 #67 Share Posted October 28, 2005 if you're heartbroken when the bartender hands you your bill for your signature, because the pen has PRINCESS on it. ...and you politely hand that pen back to the bartender, then take the $8.00 pen with the Cunard logo that you just purchased from the gift store out of its case and use that to sign the bill instead. Then you're torn, because you have conflicting emotions that you just did something silly, but that you also did something rignt.
Calliope Posted October 31, 2005 #68 Share Posted October 31, 2005 If you look at the 2005 and 2006 deluxe brochure and know that the little photo of QE2's CA stateroom is not a CA stateroom at all, but a room that was originally a "Transatlantic" class stateroom. (All CA staterooms are on One, Two or Three deck, have wood paneling, and do not have deadlights.)
guernseyguy Posted October 31, 2005 #69 Share Posted October 31, 2005 All CA staterooms are on One, Two or Three deck, have wood paneling, and do not have deadlights. That would be apart from the CA staterooms on 4 deck (C3, C5 and C6).....? Peter
guernseyguy Posted October 31, 2005 #70 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Calliope, Or did you mean that the original First Class staterooms are on one, two and three deck? (Which is why the D lifts only go down to three deck). Peter
Rare carlmm Posted October 31, 2005 #71 Share Posted October 31, 2005 That would be apart from the CA staterooms on 4 deck (C3, C5 and C6).....? The reference goes probably to the category "CA" which is single outside Caronia class. In this category there are only 8 cabins on decks one (2), two (4) and three (2). In this category there are only 8 cabins on decks one (2), two (4) and three (2). That may well be it - though the UK 2006 brochure does not have a photograph of a CA stateroom, but one of a steward bearing breakfast - perhaps they spotted the mistake and subsituted the photograph.....its funny as ALL the other cabin categories have photographs.... In this category there are only 8 cabins on decks one (2), two (4) and three (2). That is correct Carlmm. There are no "CA" single occupancy Caronia class rooms on either Four or Five Deck. The thumbnail photo of a supposed "CA" room in the American deluxe brochure has a deadlight for the porthole. There are no deadlights on One, Two, or Three Decks. Ken_W Posted October 31, 2005 #74 Share Posted October 31, 2005 ...when you have been around long enough to go through at least one recategorization of cabins on QE2, but you realize it took you several weeks to realize that designation grades Q5 and Q6 have completely disappeared from the brochures and website, and that the new P4 category consists entirely of cabins 3121 and 3124, which used to be designated Caronia. Oh, and on the US website, the designation P4 doesn't appear in the voyage details section until voyages starting May 9, 2006. As long as they don't move the Chart Room, I'll be fine.... ;)
