Holmemead Posted February 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Booked the P&O trip in May. Question is- If the race overruns for whatever reason will the ship wait
john watson Posted February 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2016 Is the trip a cruise line booked excursion? If it is, the ship should wait until all passengers return from the excursion. Regards John

staygulf Posted February 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) As far as I am aware the race can't overrun. There is a set time limit for each race. Edited February 7, 2016 by staygulf
Haworth Posted February 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 8, 2016 It is, thanks Does the excursion include a grandstand seat or is it entry only? If it's entry only the only free seating is up on the hill and spaces are taken up very early by regulars.
the english lady Posted February 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2016 As far as I am aware the race can't overrun. There is a set time limit for each race. I think I remember once when there was very heavy rain, that was expected to clear later ,they did delay the restart of the race until things were safer.Lots of aquaplaning, so stop race and delay restart. The captain may have a small leeway to delay leaving, but it would probably reach a point when they have to say we have to leave by xx. In which case ,on a ships excursion they would notify the leader who I assume would gather everyone up. I still think there would be a very slight chance that if there was very bad weather the Captain could delay leaving by x amount. If the race was going to finish after that, you may have to leave before the end.
Bacardi.. Posted February 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I've got my own tickets for the race and was going to book the oceana. P&o are only doing a escorted tour to the race so it means I would end up with two sets of tickets. I am not sure about getting my own transfer on race day (not a problem normally just jump on the train). However I think I. Going to book p&o trip and a ticket for the hill and try and sell them on the gate or give them away. Unless someone tell me about a transfer from villafranche to monaco on race day

This does the GP and they are pretty focused on what will be the business excursionwise. It's a Nice (town) fly cruise.
