Ray66 Posted February 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2016 You won't be able to watch the edition about Liverpool on iplayer until after it has been broadcast on Thursday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b071c12s "This programme will be available shortly after broadcast"
chirk_on_tour Posted February 14, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2016 It was actually first on the 24th of Jan 2016 at 4pm. So you will be able to find it on iplayer under Sea Cities Maritime Merseyside. It may be difficult to find on a phone but my tablet got it straight away. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b06z9kds/sea-city-maritime-merseyside Save people waiting. Hope this helps
Happyboating Posted February 14, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Hi Chirk Many thanks for the link that you have posted, however, I notice that it is only for 30 minutes and the programme to be broadcast on Thursday is for 60 minutes so, whilst I have no doubt that the two programmes are similar, I would respectfully suggest that they are, in fact, different. My tv magazine usually indicates with an ®, after the programme details, if the programme is a repeat and, on this occasion, this isn't indicated - if it had have been I wouldn't have posted the details. I shall indeed watch the link that you have kindly posted, however, I shall also watch the one to be broadcast on Thursday. I hope others will find both programmes interesting too. Ray66 Posted February 14, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2016 Thanks for the link but they appear to be two different programmes. Sea Cities - Liverpool: 59 minutes Sea City - Maritime Merseyside: 30 minutes No doubt though they will use the same footage of the three Queens event. chirk_on_tour Posted February 14, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) No worries Happyboater. Hopefully Thursdays edition will have more time on the 3 Queens dedicated to it. I have set Thursdays to record as well. Edited February 14, 2016 by chirk_on_tour spelling
Host Hattie Posted February 18, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2016 I have just watched this, the last 15 minutes or so was about the 3 Queens in Liverpool. It brought back some lovely memories of an amazing day.
jo-b Posted February 19, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 19, 2016 And the Liverpudlians are obviously enjoying a resurgence of interest in Cruise Ship's calling there http://www.travelweekly.co.uk/articles/60602/liverpool-seeks-site-for-larger-cruise-terminal
Rare david,Mississauga Posted February 19, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 19, 2016 Another article discusses the site: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-merseyside-35611212 The BBC claims Liverpool last hosted regular Atlantic crossings in 1968. They seem to have forgotten the regular crossings made by Canadian Pacific to and from Montreal. CP's last liner, the Empress of Canada, was withdrawn in in November 1971.
