thepoint Posted February 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2016 If you obtain elite status during the course of your cruise, will you get the benefits or will you receive them on the next cruise? Mostly interested in the laundry perk. Thank you for your help.
shipgeeks Posted February 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2016 Our experience was that it did not kick in til the next cruise.
CHEZMARYLOU Posted February 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2016 You will not get Elite status until you have completed the cruise.
Xport Posted February 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2016 (edited) If you obtain elite status during the course of your cruise, will you get the benefits or will you receive them on the next cruise? Mostly interested in the laundry perk. Thank you for your help. But cruise points are not credited to one's Sailing History until after a cruise is completed [and then, it typically takes a few weeks for records to be updated unless one is doing consecutive cruises, changes status following completion of a sailing, and notifies the onboard Captain's Club Host/Hostess of the new eligibility prior to (or just after; obviously, the sooner the better) starting the next sailing]... Your new status will be recognized on your next subsequent cruise... You will find the related "rules" under the "Terms & Conditions" section at the Captain's Club area of the Celebrity website... Congratulations! Edited February 21, 2016 by Xport
ClaudiaB Posted February 21, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2016 The laundry perk *is* great. So nice to take clothes for a little over a week on a 2 week cruise. We've been elite status for 5 cruises and our next cruise we'll be elite+ and get twice the laundry. We've also used the internet as my DH has to be in touch with his company or we can't cruise. Lately we've gotten unlimited internet either with a perk or we've bought it with OBC. Not everyone "needs" internet but in our case we do. I never used any of it but when we got unlimited I enjoyed it for a few minutes a day.
Traveler67 Posted February 21, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 21, 2016 Next cruise. We were one point away at the start of a 14 cruise, and the new points were not applied until after termination of the qualifying cruise.
thepoint Posted February 22, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Thank you everyone. We will just have to keep cruising until we get to elite!
FloridaGirlLovesToCruise Posted February 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 22, 2016 I was wondering about this too since we are two points away from Elite and our next cruise on Celebrity will be 14 days in Asia on the Millennium in Feb. 2017. We are planning to take a three or four day cruise in November so we can make Elite prior to our Asia cruise.
Cruising-Snowbird Posted February 22, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 22, 2016 We are taking our first Celebrity cruise this Summer. We are Diamond Plus on Royal Caribbean and as such, we have an Elite status with Celebrity. As we take cruises and accumulate points with with Celebrity, do the Captain's Club points start at ZERO or the lowest number of Elite?
