crusinpsychRN Posted February 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 22, 2016 It's not formal anymore, it's only elegant, a little less formal.
Schoifmom Posted February 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 22, 2016 Is there a formal night on a 5 night cruise? :) Normally, elegant night will be during the first sea day (assuming that you have more than one).
summersigh Posted February 22, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 22, 2016 (edited) 5 day cruises have one "cruise elegant" night ... keeping in mind that on CCL elegant doesn't have to be all that elegant. DH wears kakis and a button-down collar shirt with a belt and loafers with me wearing black slacks, sparkly top and strappy sandals. And yes, there are some that wear coat and tie but on our last Sunshine cruise they were in the minority. Robfromcharlottesville Posted February 22, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 22, 2016 yes, but they no longer include lobster on the 5 night cruises. 7 nights or longer only. And the elegant part is strictly optional. there'll be a few dressed formally, a few in suits, and most in khakis and a collared shirt with no tie. love2travel41 Posted February 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 24, 2016 [ Is there a separate dining for anytime dining? If so, is there elegant night there?
Robfromcharlottesville Posted February 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Yes on elation two weeks ago ,there were two main dining rooms, one for anytime dining, and one for the standard early and late dining periods. Both main dining rooms had a formal night. It is usually as someone else said, on the first day at sea, unless there is another major event such as the Super Bowl for me my last cruise , or maybe a holiday, in which case they might move it to another night. zqvol Posted February 24, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 24, 2016 Is there a formal night on a 5 night cruise? :) No, Carnival does not have any formal nights on any cruises, they have something that they call elegant night, but fewer than half of the passengers do anything special.
