The separate costs of these perks was not itemized but was embedded in the cruise fare. I understand that if I had paid for these items separately and then had to cancel the cruise in the penalty phase, Celebrity would refund the cost of these items as well as taxes and port fees. Is that correct? But what would Celebrity refund upon cancellation when the cost of the perks is folded into the total cruise fare? How much travel insurance coverage would be necessary? Thanks..... My point is that the cost of these perks is built into the price of the cruise. I'm sure the price of our cruise with the built-in perks is quite a bit greater than it would be with no perks. In the past, I recall others noting that when various promotions came out, the price of the cruise went up. It seems that total-package pricing benefits Celebrity if a person must cancel within the penalty period. Previously, if you had separately purchased a drinks package, OBC, internet, pre-paid grats, etc., you would get 100% of these costs reimbursed if you had to cancel during the penalty period, right? Your travel insurance wouldn't have to cover these reimbursable items. Now, you have a higher price for the total package with "included" perks. If you purchase the perks separately, Celebrity can refund those separately. Your travel insurance will refund the cruise price paid (including the perks if you did it that way).
