Pre-booking restaurants questions

On previous cruises, if we've fancied dining in a speciality restaurant we've booked on board. But this time I'm thinking of pre-booking before we sail.

 

Is it cheaper to pre-book before you sail?

 

If you pre-pay are there any extras that we may need to pay for and if so do these go on our room bill?

Unless there is some sort of price increase after you book, it sill be the same price, pre-cruise or onboard. Everything you book pre-cruise is immediately charged to your credit card.

Only reason to prebook (and PrePay) would be to insure you get the time you want.

We pre-booked Chops on one of our cruises. When they brought the bill, they had charged us again. It was resolved immediately. However, make sure if you pre-book you take a copy of your confirmation with you to the specialty restaurant.
