prmrolltide Posted February 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2016 I booked a room at The Roosevelt via a bid in priceline for $175 a night in July. I was excited for that rate. Lol
Casagordita Posted February 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Anyone ever stay there? Boy the hotels in Seattle are expensive!! I haven't stayed there, but I live nearby. It's in an industrial zone, far from just about everything--the airport, the piers, and most of the major tourist sites. Unless you have a car, your options for restaurants and shopping and things to do nearby will be very limited. If you're hoping to do much sightseeing, you'll spend a lot of money on cabs or a lot of time on buses. The place looks decent enough from the street, but it's not at all fancy or upscale--it's a somewhat older building, probably on par with a Hampton Inn or a Holiday Inn Express. In short, it would have to be a heck of a bargain to outweigh the drawbacks for most people. And yes, we know hotels are expensive here. You should see the rent on apartments!
mapleleaves Posted February 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Don't stay at the Georgetown Inn ! Yes, downtown hotels are pricey. Hotels are a bit cheaper near the Seattle Center but even cheaper around the airport. All the major chains are at SeaTac if you have points to use. It's not as convenient for sightseeing if you stay near SeaTac, but Light Rail gets you downtown for $3 in 40 minutes. Just ask the hotel shuttle to drop you off at the Light Rail station at SeaTac and ride the Rail to the last stop (Westlake Center). At Westlake you can catch the monorail to the Seattle Center/Space Needle in 5 minutes $2.25. Or from Westlake you can walk 3 blocks to the Market. crzndeb Posted February 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Yes, the hotels in Seattle are expensive, but our tourist season is short. Visit in January and they will be less. I agree with staying at Seatac if you want to save money.
crazycruzer68 Posted February 27, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted February 27, 2016 We are renting a car so transportation isn't a problem. I am mainly just wondering about the hotel itself. Also, are taxis going to be our only option to get to the pier?

Also, are taxis going to be our only option to get to the pier? if you are renting from Alamo, enterprise or National they have kiosks at each pier. You can drop your car at their downtown office and they shuttle you to the ship. Ask if this option is available to you.
