Higgy64 Posted February 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Hi all, Currently looking to book my transfers from the Airport to Civitavechia. The first company I looked at tell me that only Sedans are allowed close to the ships and that mini-vans, such as we will require, will need to drop at the port gates and passengers use the free shuttle. Other information I've found on the net indicates that a special licence is required for the Transfer vehicles to get close to the ship. Please can anyone point me in the direction of a company whose mini-vans can get past the Port gates please and negate me dragging 5 suitcases on and off buses. I suppose I could leave the Tux at home and just take 2 suitcases ;);) Thanks
Tommy3putts Posted February 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2016 You should post your question in the Italy ports of call forum. It's a great resource. We use RomeCabs. Great company.

gacruisergal Posted February 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Rome Cabs can handle up to 6 passengers and lots of luggage with their large sedans. I've done it many times...............The only way to go.
az_tchr Posted February 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2016 The travel forum or your roll call can head you in the right direction. The information you received is NOT correct. Lots of vans, mini vans and full sized buses next to the terminal. And yes they do require a permit but evidently as with lots of other things in Italy - enforcement is a bit lax. Higgy64 Posted February 26, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Thanks for the feedback - I've made contact with a couple of the companies you mention.
Rare Keith1010 Posted February 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2016 I would recommend the two that were mentioned and that will be what you will find on the Italy Ports of Call Board. We've use rome cabs often (not a taxi service) and their web site is http://www.romecabs.com Many also recommend Rome In Limo which is http://www.romeinlimo.com Keith
