Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2016 I just read that starting on March 1 they upgraded the Cheers program to include sodas, upgrade in liquor (costs of drinks over $10), water, vitamin water, coconut water and specialty coffee's...my questions are I also read if we prepay this drink package we save $5.00 per day...do we still have to get the sticker for our card to show we have this package at a bar location or do they automatically upon check in give you the sticker, secondly, does this mean they changed the bar menu and raised the costs to some drinks? The drink prices for smoothies and frozen cocktails were higher on our 2/15/16 sailing. Smoothies were $5.25 and frozen cocktails were $8.25. Not sure about other alcohol prices though. AVIL Posted February 27, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2016 As per the Q&A from the website: For those guests that pre-purchase CHEERS!, it will be activated upon boarding the ship (except for ships sailing from Galveston, Mobile and New York). Guests will receive a note in their stateroom advising them to go the bar to receive their sticker which is placed on their Sail & Sign card. In the event guests do not go to their stateroom, once the Sail & Sign card is swiped, it is flagged and the bartender will provide the sticker. I actually had the same question the other day and ended up finding the answer on the Carnival website. Cheers! Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted February 27, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted February 27, 2016 I know this is a stupid question, but you never know....since the upgraded package is now available as of March 2, I am assuming that the coffees, water and soda do not count towards your 15 maximum drink....I do believe it doesn't but like to hear confirmation because it doesn't state that where I read about the upgraded cheers program. Thank you.

tracy1101 Posted March 1, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 1, 2016 I had a question that I'm hoping someone will help me with... This new Cheers program-it says "any drink under $50" - I've been on many Carnival cruises (74 days after this year's trip) and I don't recall seeing any single drink anywhere near that price. I've seen a few that were up to $15ish. Anyone have any idea what drinks they're now including that would be over $15-$20 each? I want to get my moneys worth, and I can guarantee I'll drink the best liquor I can get!

jnwinos Posted March 1, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 1, 2016 I am excited, a $9.95 glass of wine on board is like a $5.00 glass at home. Hopefully it will now include a better selection of wine by the glass. Yay for Cheers!
Ellusionz Posted March 1, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I was pre browsing and daydreaming of the things we'll get to try on Sunshine and noticed they have a Shake Spot with some alcoholic milkshakes... are those included in the program? Oh whoops just noticed someone had just asked this question lol. Thanks for any answers you can give us ;) Edited March 1, 2016 by Ellusionz
pfleer Posted March 1, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I was pretty excited to read that specialty coffees are included, however, this is what the Carnival website still says for the Cheers package. All spirits (including cocktails), as well as beer and wine by the glass with a $10.00 or lower menu price Soda and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails 25% off menu price of bottle water 25% off the menu price for spirits above $10.00 per drink 25% off the menu price for wine and champagne by the bottle What’s NOT included? Non-alcoholic beverages other than soda and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails Beverages promoted and sold in souvenir glasses Bottles of liquor Beverages offered at gangway while debarking Beverages offered through room service Beverages offered in mini-bars The sharing of cocktails and floaters Buckets of beer, pitchers of beer, and beer tubes Beverages offered through wine machines Coffee beverages and food items Edited March 1, 2016 by pfleer

Sorry when I said sodas I meant the specialty sodas that I don't think were included before. But thank you all for the info, yay more stuff to try out! This plan is great for people like me who hate trying new things due to the expense and chance of not liking it. :D
E&B Posted March 1, 2016 #21 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Program is non-refundable. Price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price. Just wondering - does non-refundable mean if I purchase it now that I can't cancel it before my August cruise? And does price adjustment mean that if I purchase it now they'll charge me more if the price goes up between now and then? kelledge Posted March 1, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Also curious about the price adjustment. If I bought it before the price increased, will they charge the difference to me when I get onboard?

And does price adjustment mean that if I purchase it now they'll charge me more if the price goes up between now and then? Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app We prepay tips and Cheers, they both can be refunded if you don't go on the cruise. And this would be due to the cruise being cancelled, or any acceptable reason, if you cancel through cruise insurance. You would not be upcharged if the price goes up. I, like, some others, when I read the new price and saw it covered up to $50. thought Huh? Since you can't add floaters, or a million other things, not allowed, can't imagine anything close to $50. Most things were close to the old $10. limit, before, but I see prices have gone up. Maybe some pricey cognac? or Scotch?
cruzelover55 Posted March 2, 2016 #25 Share Posted March 2, 2016 P.S. Where do you get milkshakes? When were not offered on Cheers, usually just made my own. We always bring tumblers for water, YES, the water is fine to drink from the room. Mixed soft serve ice cream and whatever, Milkshake! But, of course would like the real thing if it is now offered, just don't know where they are on the ship???:)
