dam64 Posted February 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) What time are we allowed to get off the ship in Fort Lauderdale if we walk off ourselves with our luggage and pass through customs? We have an 11:50am flight out of Fort Lauderdale is that plenty of time? Thanks. Edited February 28, 2016 by dam64

Make sure you sign up for this about 3 days prior to the end of the cruise. Stewart should hand out paperwork but you can go to the passenger services desk and sign up too. ;) Edited February 28, 2016 by Colo Cruiser
fishywood Posted February 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 28, 2016 An 11:50 flight leaves you more than enough time to have a leisurely breakfast on the ship and disembark with one of the regular groups rather than carry your own luggage off at the crack of dawn. The airport is less than a 10 minute taxi ride away.
cb at sea Posted February 28, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Totally doable, even without carrying your own bags off! The airport is about 8-10 mins. away.

GUT2407 Posted February 29, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Depends on what time you actually dock.. But even I would be OK with 11:50 unless something has changed drastically.

TSM AND JP Posted February 29, 2016 #11 Share Posted February 29, 2016 I also have a flight at 11.30. However, I just learned that there will be 7 ships in port that day. Should I plan on doing the self disembark?

We do walk off ...have done it many, many times and are usually at our gate waiting at 730am to 8am. Walk off in Fort Lauderdale usually starts between 610am and 645am. Potstech Posted February 29, 2016 #16 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Also look real close at the EZ Check program. This allows your luggage to be taken from in front of your room and the next time you will see it is at your destination. It will also check you into your flight and get you your boarding pass. Not all airlines participate and it has a early flight time restriction but it works great if available. Then when you leave the ship you will not have to worry about carrying your bags.
